Expiry Dates

I know it's bad not to mention irresponsible, but I never used to look at expiry dates when grocery shopping. I always thought that items sold in grocery stores are fresh. Not until recently, after hearing from the news how 2 people died after eating an already expired canned food.

So I've been very conscious on checking the expiry dates of items I picked up while grocery shopping today. That's when I noticed this.........

Varying date formats on items I picked up! I live in the Philippines where the standard date format is mm/dd/yyyy which is the same format for the U.S.A. So if I'm going to read the expiry date on this product it will say January 12, 2013! Can it be that this local grocery store is stocking expired goods??? I hope not. I checked another brand and it has a date format of dd/mm/yyyy, I only figured it out because it was showing 25/07/2014.

I guess what my point is, products should at least be labeled correctly to say what the date format is. Otherwise it could cause a lot of confusion not to mention reduced sales. I immediately put down this popcorn because I'm not going to buy something that does not clearly say when the expiry date is.

In desperate need of a hobby!!!

As I'm writing this, my daughter is yanking my hair saying "basketball mommy" over and over again. Don't get me wrong, I love my daughter and I love my family but sometimes can't help but feel a burning need of alone time.

It got me realizing - I don't have a hobby!!! Writing a blog doesn't count, I know myself too well, I just write whenever I feel like it.

My husband has had a hobby for the past 17 years that he's been overly passionate about. He quit that hobby recently and has then again found a new hobby. Aside from this he's found himself a new sport.

And it leaves me with a question - what's my hobby???

Have tried these so far but all have been epic failures....

  • Cross Stitching - Yes, you read it right! Cross stitiching. I tried to cross stitch, even bought a couple of patterns and some threads in advance because I was so determined to finish one. But never got down to finishing one pattern because of distractions. It's either we're out of the house on weekends or spending time with my daughter.
  • Food Blog - Checkout my other blog, last blog post was over a year ago! Need I say more???
  • Reading - Have downloaded gazillions of ebooks but have not even started reading them yet, either my daughter's grabbing the ipad or she's climbing on my lap desperately trying to get my attention (just like what she's doing now).
Want to try these out but I end up with reasons not to.....
  • Scuba Diving - Too expensive!
  • Photography - Too expensive!
  • Mountain climbing - Erm???
  • Badminton - Who has the time and energy????
Really need that alone time to reflect on what I'm passionate about or else I just might self combust one of these days.
